The Magic of the Knight

Kight Studios Casting IMDb

From the looming mountains surrounding a little bustling tourist town affectionately called Sin City, to the vast and varying landscape of the the Nevada desert, it is not surprising that film production studios have taken an interest in the state's unique resources.

However, immersed in the middle of it all are the local creatives who seek an opportunity to give authentic representation and be part of the magic that is often reflected back to them on the screen.

That is where Kight Studios comes in. Spearheaded by the intelligent, ambitious, and talented Alissa Knight and her wife, Melissa Knight, the studio has given actors, production crew, and others alike an opportunity to establish and secure themselves in the entertainment industry.

According to various interviews, testimonials from those who are a part of the Knight world paint a picture of support, creative freedom, and hard work - a place to develop their skills and learn from one another, all in a safe and team-oriented environment.

Moreover, the studio's website (https://www.knightstudios.co/) states it provides a training ground for those seeking a career in film production. That would make it an amazing opportunity for students and other Las Vegas locals to gain hands-on experience with a studio that is ever-evolving and expanding with each new project.

Because of her professional background in cybersecurity, Alissa Knight has utilized her expertise in telling stories about computer hacking and other cyber crimes as witnessed in Underdog Games, Catastrophe Inc., Heat, Ransom, Dark Ops, Scorched Earth, and the up-and-coming Shadow Unit

Kight Studios
Like most people when they are busy, sometimes my focus and attention are on the projects I am personally involved in at the time, but regardless of that, word of the studio had been buzzing in my ear because of the awards they have been receiving. It wasn't until recently, however, that I had a chance to learn about the company. I must admit, that, whether it's a fault or a blessing of mine, I tend to geek out when I see people that I've worked with in the past on new productions. In this case, actress Johanna Gordon and actor Andrew Chan, (who I appeared with on Space Grandma back in early 2023) have joined the KS team on the series Dark Ops. And, although the episode that Chan appears in hasn't yet been released, I found myself hooked and binge-watched this past week every title KS has released to the public thus far. As a new viewer, I can safely say that I've been pulled into this world that Alissa Knight and her cast and crew created and I look forward to more.

Also, check out The Alisa Knight Archives on YouTube.

SIDE NOTE: As you may have noticed this blog is undergoing reconstruction. In the last couple of years, my interests have expanded (some revisited like an old friend) and I have decided to include them to reflect what is important to me alongside TV horror hosting (particularly The Super Shock Show). I thank all of you for your support from the very start of this venture and to those who are discovering the show for the first time.

Mistress Peace Theatre Gets Sick !!!

Las Vegas actor Jim Childs & cast

I created this poster back in 2022 when I made a guest appearance as Sicko-Psychotic the King of Ghouls on Mistress Peace Theatre hosted by the zany and wonderful Mistress Malicious herself. I had such a great time and I am very grateful to have been asked to appear alongside two of my favorite hostesses... the Mistress and her Magic Mirror.

Cameo was also on board and, as some of you might know, I also puppeteer and do the voice of that wisecracking magic camera obscura.

You can catch Mistress Peace Theatre on Beta Max TV, The Monster Channel, Otherworlds TVTingler Television, The Vortexx, and MAX-TV (Channel 43). For more information visit their website at: https://bordellomistressm.wixsite.com/mistresspeacetheatre/about .

The movie shown in this episode was the film-noir mystery Behind Green Lights (1946) starring Carole Landis and William Gargan.

The Bone Jangler's 20th Anniversary Marathon !!!

The Monster Channel and the Eerie Late Night Horror Channel celebrated 2021 with a marathon for the 20th anniversary of horror host The Bone Jangler. It's quite an impressive feat especially when you consider he's been hosting two shows ("The Bone Jangler" and "The Bone Jangler's Daytime Dungeon") at the same time. His love for the genre and his support for the two channels never wavers, so it is not surprising that many of his horror host colleagues dropped in during the marathon to show their appreciation.

The video above features Sicko-Psychotic giving a toast to the Bone Daddy during the marathon.

A Vortexx of Halloween Reflections in the Key of B !!!

Las Vegas Halloween horror host show

Sicko-Psychotic's Halloween Music Marathon: Side B aired on The Vortexx streaming channel on November 6, 2021 right after a re-showing of Side A. It was great to hang out with old friends once again on the website's chatroom during the showing.

Doing a four-hour special such as this was incredibly challenging, but all of the musicians who participated and allowed me to include their music videos in the program made it all worth while: Angels and Devils; Apology None; Cliff and Ivy; The Cutthroat Brothers; Dali's Llama; The Dev; First Boy on the Moon; Marquis of Vaudeville; Michael Raco-Rands & J. Gust Anderson; Mike Diva; The Mobile Hot Spots; Phyllis Johnson; The Rhythm Coffin; Sheiks of Neptune; The Slow Poisoner; Undadogz; ZombieSuckers; and my horror hosts colleagues Arachna of the Spider People (Alexis Hmielak "I Put a Spell on You"); Crematia Mortem (Roberta Solomon "The Mortem Rap"); Dr. Sarcofiguy (John Dimes "Nosferatu"); and Penny Dreadful (Danielle Gelehrter "Monster Mash").

The entire cast of Sicko-Psychotic's Super Shock Show even paid tribute to Bizarre TV and it's creator, Rhonda Baffes, by performing a musical parody called "Bizarre". It was the first station to pick up the Sicko-Psychotic Show in its original incarnation and introduce us to the strange and wonderful community of horror hosts. Also, it was through Bizarre TV in which I learned about two other talented hosts from Las Vegas... The Sinister Minister (Sean Smith) and Vincent Grimmly (Darren T. Knaus). (Starring Jim Childs as Sicko-Psychotic the King of Ghouls)

Las Vegas Halloween horror host show

Although Sicko-Psychotic (Jim Childs) has appeared as a guest, done shout-outs on other hosted shows, and popped up on the Captain Isotope program a couple times, it has been a long spell since a Sicko-Psychotic episode aired on The Vortexx streaming channel. Thanks to horror hostess Arachna of the Spider People (Alexis Hmielak from Beware Theater) for arranging it, the Sicko-Psychotic Show made a return to The Vortexx on November 2, 2021, with the 2-part Halloween Music Marathon. The wonderful Arachna herself appeared in the Special promoting Halloween books for children of all ages that could be checked out from public libraries.

The Halloween Special was the first time I had reached out to other fellow horror hosts to appear on the show and I am extremely grateful to each of them for making this such an amazing event. Knaus; Night Chills Theatre).

Tales Told By Sicko-Psychotic !!!

In June of 2020... Cameo, Silky and I lent our voices for the community. We read two classics tales, The Furnished Room by O. Henry and Hansel and Gretel by the Brothers Grimm. Hopefully, it will go well and we will continue the video series we're calling The Haunted Library. It was exciting to be doing something different. Enjoy.

Tribute to Horror Host Fenriz Fatal

TRIBUTE TO FENRIZ FATAL from the HORROR DUNGEON HOUR. We have been in a bit of hiatus, but wanted to pay tribute to one of the most delightfully infectious personalities in horror hosting... Fenriz Fatal. We were sad to hear of his passing on April 23, 2018. We filmed this for him several months back. Normally, we like to keeps things wild and zany, but this was very difficult for us to do and I think it shows. Still, I was glad to be among the many who came together to voice our appreciation. R.I.P. Fenriz, and thank you for all the chills and thrills, and, especially... bringing smiles into our lives.
